CTC

I am a cheerleading camp staffer for a company called CTC which stands for Cheerleading Technique Camps. The main office is based out of Gainesville, Florida but it is a nationally recognized company. My traveling and hotel is paid for to go around the country teaching cheer camps to middle, high school and allstar squads during the summer. I make about $250 for a 3-day camp. My favorite place I went to this past summer was Washington D.C. Some of our staff taught a camp at Laguna Beach High School. I was jealous, I really wanted that camp.
Spirit Team is the overall company and it also owns a competition section called the American Championships. During the school year, I’m sent all over judging cheerleading competitions at the State and National levels. Over Christmas break, I judged Nationals in Las Vegas and absolutely loved it! This coming Friday I am leaving for Daytona to judge the STATE competition which I myself used to compete in. At the end of January I am flying up to Baltimore, Maryland to judge another National. I love to travel and I love to cheer so it is the perfect job for me and the money is great! I make about $300 in a weekend for judging.
This was my first year on staff. Before camps, all of staff came together for a week for a camp of our own for extensive training in the materials we will be teaching this summer in the camps and how to properly coach. I was voted #1 Rookie after the week. I love everyone I work with; we have such a broad diverse staff from all over the country. Some of our staff includes FSU, FGCU, UF, Valdosta State, MU, Grace College, Kansas State, and USF cheerleaders. Also, we have people from all over, even one staffer from Washington [state]. Everyone on staff goes through a very competitive tryout and interview process to make sure that squads are getting the most qualified and experienced staffers.
