Chaos Perfected

Scenario: An 18 (19 as of Feb.11) girl is watching The Notebook upstairs in her room. Suddenly she hears a voice call out "Lou-Loute!" She doesnt answer hoping that the woman will figure shes asleep and leave her alone. But of course the woman is persistent and yells out "Lou-Loute!" out for a second time in a slightly higher pitch. So the girl (seriously considering changing he name/nick name) runs downstairs to see what it is the lady wants. "Cheri get me some juice please. I'm thirsty."the woman says. "Mummy you re in the kitchen!" says the girl.
When I was back home this would be a typical night for me when my mom comes from work. Our "community" includes her, my dad and myself. Once you extend it though it also includes my god sister who im usually with on a 24/8 schedule, my god momma and cousin who gave birth to my bad ass god kids, and my cousins.
My family isnt big. We dont have reunions and all that. Actually 9 times out of 10 the adults are in some type of argument and not talking to each other. I have always been neutral in all situations though and I always try to keep that in mind because in my opinion its a waste of time being mad at someone in your family. They are going to always be in your life and its for a reason. Therefore all that can be done is working out the situation or just letting it go if it cant be solved. But when they are actually talking, they are doing it loudly because to them that's the Haitian way. Somehow despite all that though, I love them and wouldn't replace them. It is only with them that I feel the most comfortable. Nobody thinks twice if you fart, eat too much or have absolutely nothing to say. Its not about a show. Everybody is just doing them.
